You can renew your subscription at any time, even after expiry.

Renewing your subscription will extend your expiry date for 1 year from your current expiry date, or 1 year from the purchase date if your subscription has already expired.

2. On the “PRODUCT LICENSES” tab, click “RENEW LICENSES” under the product you wish to renew.

NOTE:  If you wish to renew additional products, you may have to add them to the cart by clicking the “ADD TO CART” button next to the product.

The Reading Placement tool will give students a series of reading tasks increasing in difficulty until the student is unable to answer correctly.  If assigned, students will be required to complete the Placement Test before accessing other Reading resources.  

Students will be placed in one of 9 Reading levels:

Which products have the Reading Placement Tool?


The Reading Placement Tool is available for Raz-Plus and Raz-Kids.

How long will the Reading Placement Tool take?


The Reading Placement Tool will take an average of 20 minutes for the student to complete.

Is the Reading Placement Tool required?


The Reading Placement Tool is not required. It can be disabled for students on the Classroom Roster screen.

ASSIGNING READING PLACEMENT TEST TO EXISTING STUDENTS:

  1. To disable the Reading Placement Test for a student, visit https://kidsa-z.com and click the “Teacher” link then log in with your teacher username and password.

2. Click the “MY CLASSROOM” tab then click “Class Roster” and click the student’s name you want to assign the Placement Test to.

 3. Click “Raz-Plus” or “Raz-Kids” and click the “Reset Reading Level” button.

DISABLING READING PLACEMENT TOOL ON EXISTING STUDENTS:

1. To enable the Reading Placement test for an existing student, visit https://kidsa-z.com and click the “Teacher” link then log in with your teacher username and password.

2. Click the “MY CLASSROOM” tab then click “Class Roster”.

3. Click “Raz-Plus” above the class roster, in the student’s row, click “Placement Tool” to open the Reading Level selection box.  Click the desired reading level (from aa to Z2).

HOW TO REQUEST ACCESS:

  1. Log in to student account at https://kidsa-z.com or on Kids A-Z mobile app.
  2. Click the “Parents” button.

2. Fill in the form with your first name, last name, and email address.

NOTE:  Teacher must grant access after your request is made.

  1. After access is granted by teacher you will receive email confirmation.

Set your password by pressing the “SET YOUR PASSWORD” button
on the email you received.

HOW TEACHERS CAN GRANT ACCESS TO PARENTS:

1. To disable the Reading Placement Test for a student, visit https://kidsa-z.com and click the “Teacher” link then log in with your teacher username and password.

2. Click the “MY CLASSROOM” tab then click “Class Roster” and click the student’s name you want to allow parent access for.

3. Click the “Edit” icon under the student’s name.

4. Click the “Parent Access” tab.

If a parent has requested access, press the “Approve” button and “Save”.

On the mobile app, click the parent name and toggle on the “Grant Access”.

Teachers can also add parents manually from the Parent Access tab by entering the parent’s first name, last name, and email address and clicking the “ADD” button.

Use the Level Correlation Chart if you know your students’ level in a different leveling system such as Lexile. Teachers can also assign a Running Record assessment to see if a level is appropriate for the student.

To assign a Running Record:

  1. Visit https://raz-plus.com and click the “Member Login” button.

2. Click the “RESOURCES tab, and select “Assessments -> Benchmark Books” (you can also select “Benchmark Passages” if you want to assign a passage).

3. Select the book/passage from the list, you filter books by levels (Grade, Lexile, or Learning A-Z level).

For Benchmark books, click on the book to go to the resource page.

4. Click the “Assign” button.

5. Check the appropriate students, you can optionally add a start date and due date, then click “Assign”.

The next time the student logs in, they will be prompted to complete the three-part assessment: 

  1. Record themselves reading the book or passage.
  2. Record a retelling of the text.
  3. Take a comprehension quiz.

To add a new teacher or coordinator:

  1. Log in at https://learninga-z.com and click the “MANAGE USERS” tab.

2. Press the “ADD USER” button above the teacher list and select “Teacher/Admin”.

3. Enter a First Name, Last Name, Email, School and Grade for the user.

4. Check the “Have product access” box, then check/uncheck necessary products.

Click “SAVE USER” or if you will add more users click “SAVE USER AND ADD ANOTHER”.

An email containing the login username and password reset link will be sent to the registered email address of the teacher.

1. Log in at https://learninga-z.com and click the “MANAGE USERS” tab.

2. Press the vertical elipsis (three-dot) menu at the far right of the teacher’s row, then press “Remove”.

NOTE: Teacher and their students will lose access to Kids A-Z system when teacher is removed.

Removed teachers can be restored with all their current data, including student data, unchanged.

  1. Log in at https://learninga-z.com and click the “MANAGE USERS” tab.

2. In the “View” dropdown select “Removed Users”.

3. Click the Restore icon next to the user you wish to restore.

4. If a teacher, check the “Have product access” box, if a coordinator only, check the “Give licenses to other users” box.

 

If the teacher does not have an existing classroom, click the “+Classroom” button.

Check/uncheck the necessary products for the teacher, then click “RESTORE USER”.

Up to 36 students can be active on the Classroom Roster.

You can freely replace students at any time.

 1. To add students to your roster, visit https://kidsa-z.com and click the “Teacher” link then log in with your teacher username and password.

2. Click the “MY CLASSROOM” tab then click “Add Students”.

3. Enter the student’s username and password.

The student username is the name that appears on the login screen.

You can optionally add the student’s first and last name, and select a Raz-Kids level.

The default for Raz-Kids Level is “Placement Test”, meaning students will take a short test to determine their level the first time they log in.

NOTE:  If you check the “Replace My Current Roster” box, all current students will be removed from the roster when you add the new student(s).

  1. Enter the student’s name (optional) as you would like it to appear on your reports.
  2. Click the pencil icon in the password column to set a text or picture icon password (required).
  3. Click Save.

1. To remove students to your roster, visit https://kidsa-z.com and click the “Teacher” link then log in with your teacher username and password.

2. Click the “MY CLASSROOM” tab then click “Class Roster”.

2. Check the box to the left of the students you want to delete.

*Students can be restored or transferred to another classroom with all their current data after removing from roster, they are not permanently deleted.

  1. To restore students to your roster, visit https://kidsa-z.com and click the “Teacher” link then log in with your teacher username and password.

2. Click the “MY CLASSROOM” tab then click “Class Roster”.

3. Click the “Restore Students” tab on the gray menu bar.

4. Check the box next to the students’ names and click the “Restore to My Roster” button.

Students will be restored with the same data as when they were removed.

If your account has multiple teachers, you can easily transfer students into your classroom from another teacher’s classroom.

  1. To restore students to your roster, visit https://kidsa-z.com and click the “Teacher” link then log in with your teacher username and password.

2. Click the “MY CLASSROOM” tab then click “Class Roster”.

3. Click the “Transfer Students” tab on the gray menu bar.

4. Find students you want to transfer on the list, or narrow the list by searching by student name, teacher name, or organization name.

5. Click the blue “transfer” button to the left of the student’s name, they will be automatically added to your class roster.

NOTE:  Your classroom can accommodate up to 36 students, if you already have 36 students on your roster, you will need to remove students before you can transfer students into your classroom.

You can create student groups to simplify assigning books and resources to students as well as comparing similar students in reports.

  1. To add students to a group, visit https://kidsa-z.com and click the “Teacher” link then log in with your teacher username and password.

2. Click the “MY CLASSROOM” tab then click “Class Roster”.

3. Check the box to the left of the students you want to add to the group and click the “Edit” button next to “GROUP”.

4. Check the box for the group(s) you want to add the students to, or create a new group by adding a name in the “New Group Name” box, and click “Add”.

You can edit the group name or delete a group by clicking the “Viewing” dropdown, and clicking the “Edit” button to change the group name or the “Delete” button to remove the group.

  1. Teachers and administrators can edit their contact information from the admin dashboard.

    1. Log in at https://learninga-z.com and click the “EDIT PROFILE” tab.

2. Change the desired information and press the “UPDATE ACCOUNT INFORMATION” button in the bottom right.

NOTE:  All fields in bold must be completed, if you receive an error check that all fields are filled in, including any dropdown fields such as “Occupation” and “Grade”.

Teachers and administrators can change their login username and password from “EDIT PROFILE” tab on the admin dashboard.

  1. Log in at https://learninga-z.com and click the “EDIT PROFILE” tab.

2. Select “Change Username” or “Change Password” from the blue “Login Information box.

Change Username:

After clicking the “Change Username” link, enter your desired new username, and your current password and click “UPDATE USERNAME”

NOTE:  Usernames are unique in the Learning A-Z system, if your desired username is already in use you will need to select a different username.

Change Password:

After clicking the “Change Password” link, enter your current password, your desired new password, and confirm your desired new password in the form, and click “UPDATE PASSWORD”.

If you experience trouble while using the Kids A-Z system in the PC browser it is recommended to try clearing your browser cache and cookies.

NOTE:  Recommended browsers include Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge for PC users, and Safari for Mac users.

Clearing Cache and Cookies on Chrome:

  1. After opening Chrome, click the vertical ellipsis menu icon in the top right corner and click settings.

2. Select “Privacy and security” on the side menu bar, then click “Clear browsing data”.

3. On the “Basic” tab, select “All time” in the Time Range dropdown, check “Cookies and other site data” and click the “Clear data” button.

The method for clearing cache and cookies will vary depending on your browser, but the method will be similar to the above.

If you experience trouble while using the Kids A-Z mobile app it is recommended to try clearing your app cache to resolve the issue.

NOTE:  Recommended browsers include Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge for PC users, and Safari for Mac users.

Clearing app cache on iPad:

  1. Open the “Settings” app and scroll down to the Kids A-Z app settings.

2. Toggle on the “Reset Cache” switch.

The method for clearing cache on the app will vary depending on your device, but the method will be similar to the above.

If you forgot your login password, you can request a password reset link that will be sent to your registered email address.

  1. Visit https://learninga-z.com and click log in.

2. Click the “Forgot your password?” link.

3. Enter the email address registered to your account and click the “SEND PASSWORD RESET VIA EMAIL” button.

4. On the email you receive, click the “RESET YOUR PASSWORD” link. 

NOTE:  If you have multiple accounts with the same email address, be sure to click the corresponding link.

5. Enter your new password and confirm it, then click the “SET PASSWORD” button.

If your student receives an error saying “Microphone access required” on the mobile app, you will need to enable microphone access.

  1. Open the “Settings” app and scroll down to the Kids A-Z app settings.

2. Under “Kids A-Z Access Permissions” toggle on the Microphone setting.

You may need to restart the mobile app after the settings have been changed.

The Kids A-Z mobile app requires the following:

Device Operating System:

  • Apple iOS 12 or higher
  • Android 5.0 or higher
  • Kindle OS 5 or higher

Storage and Memory:

91 MB of free storage and 1 GB of RAM is required for the mobile app to run optimally.

If you experience trouble with the mobile app, uninstall the app, make sure your operating system is updated to the latest version and reinstall the mobile app.

Uninstalling the app will not have any impact on your student’s data.
